Activities

PIA provides frequent trips to scenic areas around Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. These excursions include skiing or sledding trips in the winter, hiking in the spring, camping or day trips to ocean beaches in the summer, and river rafting trips in the fall. Conversation Partner Program

Designed to help students improve their listening and conversational skills, the Conversation Partner Program, pairs students with native speakers. Students interested in the Conversation Partner Program should ask the PIA staff for more information.

Housing Referral

All students have the opportunity to live with an American host family. Each family is carefully selected to provide a supportive and caring environment for the student. In this setting, students have the opportunity to practice relevant English skills and learn more about American culture. If you are interested in living with a host family, please complete the housing questionnaire. We ask that you allow at least two weeks for a suitable host family to be found.
