Faculty
PIA focuses on preparing international English language learners for university, with core courses in grammar, reading, writing, and speaking and listening. Intensive English classes take place Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In addition to core classes, PIA provides short-term customized courses. Qualified applicants are always encouraged to submit resumes. PIA posts available job openings through ORTESOL.
The minimum qualifications for PIA instructors are as follows: (i) a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three months of full-time equivalent ESL or foreign language classroom teaching experience or (ii) a bachelor’s degree with a certificate in teaching ESL or foreign language that includes a practice teaching component. Support Staff
In addition to providing intensive English-language education, PIA offers a wide variety of services and activities to its students. With our variety of ESL programs, PIA often has job openings to work with international students in active, collaborative environments outside the classroom.
Support staff duties include chaperoning students on school-sponsored outings, assisting administrative staff with office duties, contacting and scheduling visits with local businesses + more! Support staff members work up to 20 hours per week, including occasional evening and weekend hours. These motivated and responsible individuals must have a current driver’s license.
